About Me

About Me

My name is Lewis Busby and I am currently studying MSC Osteoarchaeology at Bournemouth University. I also did my undergraduate at Bournemouth, studying Prehistoric and Roman Archaeology. My main areas of interest are zooarchaeology and the Iron Age and Roman periods, however anything archaeological/bone related usually peaks my interest!

If you have any comments or questions about the blog (Or if you find any interesting bones you want an opinion on!) feel free to drop me an email at: lewis.j.busby@hotmail.com

About The Blog

I decided to make a blog after having to create a number of blogs about my research for my degree. I thought that once I finish my degree I would still like to carry on doing research and looking into all things archaeological and osteological, so I thought creating a blog would be a great way to carry this on.

I hope to update my blog with any sort of research which I'm doing, plus any digs I work on, or even just cool archaeological things I run into (which may mostly be of a boney nature!). My main area of research currently is the Iron Age to Roman transitional period around Fishbourne, in particular a site named Westward House, which I'm sure I will write many blogs about!

Although Zooarchaeology and Osteoarchaeology are one of my main interests, my main love is still field archaeology, and I hope to include lots of information on fieldwork that I am working on/have worked on in my blog as well.

Institutions and Excavations that I have worked on include:
- Fishbourne Roman Palace
- The Novium Museum, Chichester
- The Durotriges Big Dig
- St Petersburg University
- Parham House Excavations
- Walberton Village Big Dig
